A performative 'speech', 15:00, 2018

SPIT IT OUT confronts the notion of the alien and the fear it arouses by using the mouth as a gateway to cross borders between the self and other. The mouth bridges the border between the self and the world. The mouth takes in the world and projects the self back in to it; the body and the world bent together. But lingering in the mouth is a voice of another, behind a walled border of control longing to be free, lies the alien other. Silent, invisible, inaudible, the alien does not speak at all but it makes a lot of noise...
